After this, he started studying sex belatedly which is different from his major, but as of 2020, conducted sex education more than 5,000 times and blazed a trail. I will introduce Lee Seok-won, a popular sex education star instructor, appeared on MBC ‘Live Today Morning’ and KBS ‘Good Morning’.

Inha Times(IT): Hi, Instructor Seokwon Lee. Please introduce yourself.

Seokwon Lee: Hi! I'm Lee Seokwon, a cool headed but warm hearted man. I am a lecturer who taught sex education for all ages, from infants to old age. Moreover, I am the representative of the JAJU School for sex education and also the writer of <World Easy Sex Education for Our Children>.

IT: When you were in the Department of Sports Science, you were faithful to your major studies to receive full scholarships four times consecutively. What made you think about a completely different career?

Seokwon Lee: First, my major and sex education are not separated. Studying the body and psychology that I learned while exercising is very helpful in sex education. I was so faithful to my major that I received full scholarships four times in a row while working as a part-timer. So I was flattered and arrogant at the time. When I was break up with my girlfriend, I was very disappointed and my mother advised me to study sex, and said “I made you study, but I didn't teach you how to be good with people.” Sex studies are also about human beings as well as knowing myself. After that, I posted what I learned on my Naver blog, and I was invited to the lecture. Also the lecture’s review was good, so it made possible for me to be here. I wasn't starting to change the world tremendously, but I started to make myself and the people around me feel happy.

IT: What is the most important part of your sex education?

Seokwon Lee: The most important part of sex education for college students and young people is ‘identity,’ which realizes that I am the master of my body. If you don’t know this, there is a danger of being dominated by other people's words and actions. It is called sexual self-determination. When I teach to parents, it is important how to communicate with my child naturally with the topic of sex. It is about attitude, not knowledge.

IT: When was the most rewarding moment of your career?

Seokwon Lee: There were many rewarding moments while teaching sex education! First, It is related to a 6 grader in elementary school. One student was looking at me with a side eye at first. When I asked “Have you ever listened sex education before?” And he said, "I don't remember anything." I think he received negative sex education such as 'Don't-!' and 'Be careful.' So I told him about love, life, and joy and told him how precious his body is. After the lecture, the students had time to write down good thing and what needs to be improved. And he wrote down like this. Good thing: I got to know the sex well. What needs to be improved: I should love myself. Usually, they write down what I need to improve for my sex education lecture, but he wrote down himself-refletion! So it's very memorable to me. Moreover, when I conducted sex education for senior who were 86 years old, someone held my hand and said, "Thanks to you, I could learn about sexual joy and happiness that I've never known before." I was really proud that.

IT: I want to be a OO Sex education instructor! What modifier would you like to put in the blank? And why?

Seokwon Lee: I want to be a healthy sex education instructor. I have been a bit sick recently. I think when my body and mind are healthy, my happiness can be filled and delivered to people. But I'm worried that I can’t deliver all that energy because my body and mind are exhausted. People who love my lectures like not only the contents of lecture but also my delightful attitude. Therefore, I want to be a healthy sex education instructor for delivery happy energy.

IT: Isn't it your passion has led you to come this growth? What do you think was the reason you always lived passionately?

Seokwon Lee: People can't always be passionate. If you only live passionately, wouldn't you be able to burn up and become ashes in no time? I don't like forcing passion on young friends. ‘Passion’ comes from the Latin word ‘pati’, which means bear and endure. In other words, the essence of passion is will and patience. So I think How long you can maintain that temperature is more important than being hot. The reason I was able to maintain my passion is because of people around me, including my family.

IT: Thank you for interview! Do you have any last words that you want to say to college students who are hesitant to take on a challenge?

Seokwon Lee: It's normal to hesitate to challenge, and everyone is afraid of something new. I hope you don't feel guilty about hesitating to challenge. Recently, I see a lot of young people who use SNS and constantly compare with other people. SNS makes you compare with people even in Africa, beyond comparing you with people nearby. On SNS, the process is not visible, but only other people's results are shown. If you think of it as a baseball game, you can only see the players hitting home runs. You can't see how many the player swings a baseball bat, sometimes demoted, and frustrated the player is for that one home run. If you only look at other people's happiness through SNS, you will feel more inferior to yourself and look at yourself indolently and negatively. It creates an inferiority complex. So don't compare me too much with others. In addition, for find your dream, you have to do everything you can. Youth is not a time to judge oneself, but a time to experiment. Do whatever you want! It's also a way to have a passionate person by your side. For example, before I worked as a lecturer, I looked for famous sex education instructors. Gganddabbiya!
